Train to Pakistan

When the British withdrew, than, those who were not in right place had to flee to new country.

In the summer 1947, ten million people crossed what was known as “the partition”, due to religious and ethnic hatred, two million people were killed during the most violence, while local authority just taking over from the British and had no ability to control the people.

“Train to Pakistan” takes place in the fictional place of “Manu Manjra” , contained great religious diversity with Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs living there.

Manu Manjra possessed a train station that would eventually make it center of conflict.

The story begins with murder and robbery of Lala ram, only Hindu family, and the dacoit Jaggu loves a Muslim girl, Nooran.  A group of soldiers comes to the town to evacuate Muslims; Jaggu helps Nooran and her family for their safe passage to Pakistan.
